Heat treatment chamber for wood pallets, wood material for packing
To reduce the diffusion of the parasites through the wooden packaging materials and to standardize the measures taken in the different Countries, some directives has been defined by FAO during the IPPC convention.
Kenobi is projecting and manufacturing chambers for the obligatory heat treatment of wooden packaging materials. On demand these heat treatment chambers can be used for drying purposes too.
Heat treatment chambers have the same structure as our drying kilns.
Kenobi offers different solutions to perform HT cycles.
SmartHT is a PC software able to produce heat treatment certificates according to the IPPC-FAO requirements. SmartHT makes your PC able to read up to 8 temperature probes and transforms your PC in a complete control system for your kiln, able to control either the temperature and the moisture into the cell.
This configuration transforms the control and certification solution in a system able to drive the kiln dryer automatically, according to the temperature and time setting, so performing very optimized HT cycles, without any need for the operator surveillance.
SmartHT basic is a simple solution to perform heat treatment, it can control only one kiln.
The market requests more and more often heat treated and dried pallets. Most of our kilns are designed both for temperature treatment and drying purposes.
What is FAO ISPM15 standard?
This standard describes phytosanitary measures that reduce the risk of introduction and spread of quarantine pests associated with the movement in international trade of wood packaging material made from raw wood. Wood packaging material covered by this standard includes dunnage but excludes wood packaging made from wood processed in such a way that it is free from pests (e.g. plywood).
Wood packaging material must be heated in accordance with a specific time–temperature schedule that achieves a minimum temperature of 56 °C for a minimum duration of 30 continuous minutes throughout the entire profile of the wood (including at its core).
